ANNO REGNI VICESIMO QUARTO Seff. 2.
at the leaſt, nor unleſs ſuch Still ſhall have ſuitable
Tubs and Worms affixed thereto, and ſhall be really and
bona fide uſed for the rectifying of Britiſh Spirits for
Sale.

XXVI. And, to the Intent that the Officers of Exciſe
may the more conveniently examine into, and give Proof
(if neceſſary) of the Strength and Quality of any Com=
pounds, Britiſh Brandy, or other Spirits for Home
Conſumption, be it further enacted, That it ſhall and
may be lawful to and for the Officers of Exciſe, at all
Times, to take Samples, not exceeding four Gallons
reſpectively, of any Compounds, Britiſh Brandy, or other
Spirits whatever, upon Payment after the Rate of
Seven Shillings per Gallon for Britiſh Spirits, and
of Thirteen Shillings per Gallon for foreign Spirits.

XXVII. And be it further enacted, That no Maker,
Rectifier, or Compounder of Spirits, ſhall receive into
his Stock or Poſſeſſion any raw or unrectified Spirits
in any Caſk or Veſſel of a leſs Size or Content than
that of One hundred Gallons at the leaſt; nor ſhall any
rectified or unrectified Spirits, or any Compounds, or
Britiſh Brandy, be received by any Diſtiller, Rectifier,
or Compounder, or by any Dealer in Spirits, at any
other Time than between the Hours herein-after men-
tioned; that is to ſay, from the Twenty-fifth Day of
March, to the Twenty-ninth Day of September, both
incluſive, between the Hours of Five in the Morning and
Seven in the Evening; and from the Thirtieth Day of
September, to the Twenty-fourth Day of March, both
incluſive, between the Hours of Seven in the Morning
and Six in the Evening; and when and ſo often as any
raw or unrectified Spirits ſhall be received in any Caſk
or Veſſel of a leſs Content or Size than ſuch as is before
deſcribed, or if any raw or unrectified Spirits, or any
Compounds, or Britiſh Brandy, ſhall be received at any
other Hour than as herein-before for that Purpoſe is li-
mited, ſuch Compounds, Britiſh Brandy, and other
Spirits, ſhall be ſeized and forfeited.

XXVIII. And whereas great Frauds are daily com-
mitted by Diſtillers fraudulently conveying Waſh into
