Matthias Curghey Vicars General of this Isle

The Humble Petition & Appeal of
James Dunlop of North Britain Merchant

Sheweth

That your petitioner being a Transmarine and having
had Sundry Dealings & Transactions of a Mercantile
nature with John Kelly late of Peel Town Merchant
dead in his Life time; to wit in the years 1759, 1760,
1761 & 1762, which Several Dealings are mentioned
and referred to in the accounts No. 1. No. 2.
No. 3. & No. 4. to which the pet^r humbly craves
leave to refer when the Same shall be produced
whereby there will appear to be a Clear
Ballance of £236: 8: 8 – with Interest for the Same
at £5 p^r Centum p annum from the 26^th of January
1763, till paid, due & owing to the pet^r as he
will make to appear – your pet^r did on or
about the 10^th of June 1763, enter his Claim
in your Reverences Court within this Island for
recovery of the Gross Sum of £580 British
against the Executors of the said John Kelly
according to the Stile usage Custom & practice
of the said Court in such Cases & craved the
Law therein.
