The mention made in my former Letter of the Proximity and Local
Circumstances of the Island was not intended as an Objection Moving
from myself but in consequence of my desire to give your Lordships
every possible Information, to Convey what little I had heard, as well as
my own Conjectures, of the Sentiments of the Noble Personages, who
had formerly Considered this matter — The Considerations are of a Publick
nature; if Erroneous, your Lordships will easily detect them; and what
little weight they may have, will occur to your Lordships, much more
forcibly, than I can represent it
