A Scheme of certain Benefits and Immunities for the Trade, Fisherys
and Manufactures of the Isle of Man, to be presented to the R^t. Hon^ble. The Lords of his
Majesty's Treasury.

With respect to foreign Trade or the Intercourse of this Isle with his Majestys other
Dominions and Foreign parts. We humbly ask.

1^st **That** the Clause in the act of the 12^th George 1^st. prohibiting the Importation of any Goods
or commodities from the Isle of Man into Great Britain, or Ireland, except of its own
Growth, produce, or Manufacture be repealed, and that Foreign Goods Shippd by Cocket
under proper Securities, be permitted to be imported into Great Britain and Ireland from
hence on the Terms prescribd by the act of the 3^d George 1^st with respect to foreign Goods imported
from Jersey, Guernsey, Sark & Alderney.

2^d **That** so much of the Clause of the act of the 7^th of his present Majesty as prohibits the
Exportation of Brandy, and other spirits, Coffee, Chocolate, & Wines from this Island, be
repealed, and also, that the Duties on Wines and other foreign Goods imposed by the said Act be
altered with respect to Goods to be entered & Lodg'd here under proper securitys for Re-exportation,
and that such Goods pay Duty as formerly, Viz Wine ten Shillings p^r Ton, Spirits one penny
p^r Gallon, & all other Goods 2½ p^r C^t. ad Valorem, not to be drawn back.

3^d **That** the Clause in the Act of the 5^th. of his present Majesty, restraining Vessels Sailing
from Great Britain & Ireland to foreign parts from touching at this Island also the several
other clauses of the said act imposing on the Commerce of this Island Restrictions
the reason of which no longer exist, be repealed, and the Inhabitants of this Isle, be
permitted to Trade to & from all parts and places within his Majestys Dominions and
Foreign parts on the Same conditions & under the Same Regulations as the inhabitants
of Ireland.

4^th **That** all Goods of the produce or Manufacture of Great Britain, not intituled to any
Bounty or drawback of the Duties of Excise on Exportation from thence, and Subject at
present to a Duty of 2½ p^r C^t. ad Valorem on Importation into this Isle, be deposited
in his Majestys Warehouse if entered for re exportation & be shipped from thence without
payment of the Said Duty, provided they are Re-exported within Twelve Months.

2. **With** respect to Interior Commerce or the Importation of Commodities
for the use & consumpt of the Inhabitants of this Isle.

1 **That** Tobacco, Rum, & all kinds of Goods which can be legally imported into the
Isle of Man, may be imported from any part or place in Great Britain, & not confined
as at present to England only.

2 **That** the Allotment of Spirits for the consumption of this Isle, may not be limited
to certain proportions of Rum and British Spirits, but be allowed to be imported of
either Sort, provided the Total Quantity does not exceed 80,000 Gallons & be permitted
to be exported from Great Britain in Vessels of the Same Burthen as they are carried
Coastways from one part of Great Britain to an other.
