17^th June 1825.

My Lord Duke,

With reference to the Act of
Parliament relating to the Isle of Man,
which has lately received the Royal Assent,
I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners
of His Majesty's Treasury to acquaint You,
that My Lords are prepared to treat with
Your Grace for the purchase of the several
rights and interests therein adverted to,
and that their Lordships have it in contem-
plation to appoint M^r Courtenay, a Master
in Chancery to be the Arbitrator on the
part of the Crown for that purpose. My
Lords therefore request that Your Grace
will inform them whether you are willing
to dispose of those rights and interests
under the provisions of the Act, and,
if so, that Your Grace will communicate
to them the name of the Gentleman
you would appoint to treat with M^r
