The Lord is also Patron of all Ecclesiasticall
preferments, and the Bishop of the Isle, and all the
other Clergy of the Island are presented by him Save
two who are in the gift of the Bishop.

This being the true State of the Island at present,
it dos plainly appear at first view, that the Lord's
Revenue might be very considerably augmented in
a few years, by laying on a very inconsiderable
addition of duty, upon the product and consumption
of the Island and also the Imports and Exports.

But the Lord of the Isle thinking himself under
engagements, to let the Ministry of Great Brittain
have the refusall of the whole, as well Dominion
as property, at such an adequate price as can be
agreed on, he hopes and expects that the Ministry
in making a purchase so valuable to the Crown of
Brittain (it being universally agreed that the
Kingdoms of Great Brittain & Ireland not withstanding
of all the Laws made, and precautions used, do lose
above 60000 Yearly, by the Independancy of the
Isle of Mann on the account of fraud) will not
think the price propos'd here and[?] previously[?]
unreasonable, especially considering that he parts with
a Sovereignty and Estates the fellow of which is
not in the hands of any Subject, and which has
with in a very few years very much increas'd in
its yearly values
