The Humble petition & Complaint of John Taubman of the Bowling [obscured]
Gent.

Sheweth/ That your petit^r was early introduced into the House of Keys the Represe[ntatives?]
of the people of this Isle whereof he hath been (and now is) a Member for these 25 [obscured]
past in which publick Character your petit^r flatters himself that his upright C[obscured]
and Behaviour has ever had the approbation of his Brethren the Keys, and tha[obscured]
publick in general.

That your petit^r had also the Honour of holding many other publick offices of [obscured]
under the late Lord Proprietors of this Isle with the like Creditt and Satisfaction —

That John Lace of Castletown, who practices as an Attorney in the Court[obscured]
Isle hath of late taken upon him to traduce and abuse your petit^r in a most il[obscured]
false and Scandalous manner and particularly on the 20^th Day of July Instant on the[obscured]
hearing of certain Cause in Chancery before your Honour, wherein M^r. John Qu[obscured]
