At a meeting of the Keys at Castletown
this 9^th Day of June 1768

We the Keys of Mannow Assembled having in Obedience to his
Excellency the Governours order taken into Consideration a Certain Dispute
between Christopher Sayle & John Sayle his Son and one Daniel
Kneale Concerning a Cow which the said Sayles sold to the said Kneale
And having perused the Jury of Inquiry and Traverse Jurys Answers with
the Depositions and other proceedings had and taken in this matter And
upon due and Deliberate Consideration had thereon May are one of Opinion
that the said Jury of Inquiry proceed most Unjust Unreasonable in ordering
the said Daniel Kneale to make Restitution & pay for the said Cow the full
Cost or price which appears to have been the Sum of Three pounds Nine
shilings & Sixpence and that the Traverse Jury proceed Illegal in
Traversing the said Jury of Inquirys Answer And in Regard this Suit
appears to be a most Iniquitous and Vile procedure on the part of the
said Daniel Kneale We Order & award him to pay the said Christopher
Sayle & Son the Sum of Three pounds in name of Costs which we give
as our Judgment in this Cause. George Moore

At a meeting of the 24 Keys in Castletown
this 9^th Day of June 1768

We the Keys of Mannow Assembled having in Obedience to his Excellency
the Governours order taken into Consideration a Certain Suit and Difference between
John Christian & Patrick Kewley both of the Parish of KK. Loman
concerning some trespasses Committed by the said Kewley & the said Christians
Intackt in the Cutting down some old Trees And we having perused the Trespass
& Traverse Jurys Answers with the Several Depositions and the proceedings
had on this Cause with what was otherwise offered & pleaded by the parties
All upon due Deliberate Consideration had of the whole Jury and are of
Opinion that both the said Trespass and Traverse Jury proceeded
Illegal in this matter in Regard it appears to us that the pretended
trespasses and Damages Complained of were Committed & Done in the Year
1762. and no Action or Suit was Instituted for the same by the said John
Christian till the Year 1767 Whereby the said Christian was foreclosed
and lost all benefit by Redress & this Judgment agreeable to the Statute
of the Year 1738 which Limits all Causes & Suits of this nature to Three
Years from the Cause of Suit and not afterwards Wherefore we
acquit & Discharge the said Patrick Kewley of all Damages for & on
account of this matter which we give as our Doom & Judgment.
