bers of the Court of Gaol-delivery!

That by whomsoever, or wheresoever, it may
be asserted, that your Petitioners, or any one of
them, had any intimation or notice whatever,
previous to that day, of such their intended
expulsion, or even the least cause to suspect
that such a design was in meditation, until they
were so sentenced, your Petitioners declare, that
such assertion is made in error; the intention
to effect so material an innovation in their con-
stitution, which now appears to have been se-
cretly pending for upwards of two years, being
thus first disclosed at the moment of its execu-
tion; and your Petitioners beg leave to add,
that the moment so taken by his Grace, was
that previously fixed by himself for a concilia-
tory conference between deputations from each
branch of the legislature, thus broken off by an
act of open derision.

That your Petitioners are not aware of any
charge at any time made against one individual
of their body, for misconduct of any kind, as a
member of that Court, or that any evil, or great
inconvenience is alleged to result from their
presence. On the contrary they are induced
to hope, and to affirm, that occasionally may
arise from it some good, even when they are
passive spectators; as their countrymen have
