From every observation, I was capable of making during
my residence, I could not help thinking, what great
sufferers the Noble Family of Athol must have been,
from the sale of so fair an inheritance, for a sum,
which, did their Rights now exist in the spirit of
the original grant, would not amount scarcely to Two
Years income - The alledged threat, therefore, of a former
Minister of state, as well as the language subsequently
held by an eminent law lord, seem to be equally un-
