Ramsey & Peel one member each being Towns of less Note with will make up the compleat
number of 24. The qualification of the Electors in the diff^t parishes & Towns to be 40^s by the
year Freehold or Copyh^d within the parish or Town The Members for the parishes & Towns to
be chosen of people dwelling in the same parishes & Towns & the qualification of the Members both
for the parishes & Towns to be a clear Estate of Freeh^d or Copyh^d within the Parish or Town they
represent of the Value of £30 p^r Ann^m & of these qualifications both the Electors & Members shall
make Oath — That both the Electors & Members shall likewise be compellable to take an Oath ag^st
Bribery & corruption — That no person under 21 years of Age shall be capable of voting for
or being chosen a Member.

That no person convicted of perjury or Subornation of perjury shall be capable of
voting in any Election or of being chosen a Member.

That all Tenants by Copy of Court Roll or Copy holders shall be permitted to Vote as
Freeholders— Copyholders of Inheritance being the only or most General Tenure in this Island.

That Clergymen shall be allowed to Vote in right of their Freeholds in the Church in the
different parishes where they reside.

That every Voter shall have been in actual posion or receipt of the profit of his Freeh^d or
Copyh^d to his own use for 12 Calendar Months before except it came to him by Descent Marriage
Marr^e Settlement Will or promotion to a Benefice.

That no person shall Vote in right of any Freeh^d or Copyh^d Granted to him fraudulently
to qualify him to Vote.

That in Mortgaged or Trust Est^t the person in posion shall have the Vote.

That only one person shall be admitted to Vote for any one House or Tenement, to prevent
the splitting of Freeholds or Copyholds.

That the Sheriffs or Coroners of the diff^t districts in this Isle & the Bailiffs of the
diff^t Towns if qualified shall be permitted to Vote but shall not be eligible as Members—
being returning officers in their respective Jurisdictions.

That the S^d Sheriffs Coroners & Bailiffs shall be compellable to take an Oath ag^st Bribery
& Corruption & for the Due execution of their Offices & if they do not return such Members
only as are Duly Elected to forfeit for every such false return £50 & also shall be Liable to
an Action in w^ch Double Damages shall be recovered.

That any person bribing any of the S^d returning Officers shall forfeit £100

That 10 days public Notice shall be given by the S^d return^g officers of the time & place of Election.

That all occasional Vacancies shall be proceeded on & filled up in the same manner as
at a General Election & the returns thereof made by the returning officers within 5 Days after the
S^d Election or Elections under the penalty of £100

That as soon as the time & place of Election either in the parishes or Towns shall be
fixed All Soldiers quartered in them shall remove at least one day before the Election to the
Distance of two Miles or more & shall not return till one day after the poll is ended under
the penalty of Fifty Pounds—

That if any officer of the Customs Excise or any other Branch of the Revenue shall intermeddle
in Elections by persuading any Voter or Disswading him he shall forfeit fifty Pounds & shall
be disabled to hold any office

The above regulations your Memorialists take the Liberty to recommend to the
care & attention of your Grace to have the same as speedily as may be laid before
the King hoping that his Majesty will be graciously pleased to grant to his Loyal
& Dutiful Subjects of this Isle such relief therein as to his Royal wisdom shall seem
meet & every kind Assistance of your Grace in the furtherance thereof shall be
most gratefully acknowledged by your Graces Memorialists who as in Duty
bound shall ever pray &c
