by reason of your pett^rs then officiating as Deemster under
your Honour's deputation during the late Deemster's illness,
altho the said M^r Quayle never once thought of making this
objection ag^st your pett^r, when the said cause was in hearing
before the Keys

That the said M^r John Quayle not satisfy'd with
injuring and aspersing your pett^r in his character, & credit
hath of late presumed under his publick character as Comp^r
& Clk of the Rolls to erace and strike out your pett^rs name
from the Roll or List of Keys on the Records of this Isle,
without any orders, or directions from your Honour, or from
any authority or vote of the House of Keys, and hath taken
upon him to give out Lists of the present members, as
true & authentick copys of Record, in which your pett^rs
name is omitted and wanting, And to manifest his procedure
in this matter the more evident & notorious, the said M^r
Comp^r has given out the said copys for the year 1764 —
in which period, the said Keys never once had a publick
meeting

That your pett^r humbly apprehends, & begs leave to
observe to your Honour that this act of the said M^r John
Quayle's as Clk of the Rolls, is a breach of duty & a
violation of faith of the most serious & important kind,
in which the properties of every Individual are most
intimately concerned, as well as your pett^rs which are in
this instance most treacherously attacked & injured, as
he humbly conceives

That your pett^r apprehending himself to be highly injured
& agrieved by the said unwarrantable proceedings of this M^r John
Quayle in manner afores^d, as well in respect to the indignities
offered & done his publick & private Character, but in a more
special manner, for eraceing & omitting your pett^rs name in
the List of Keys as afores^d
